Starmap, Waiting in the Sky
Watercolour on Fontaine watercolour paper, 24 x 30 cm / 9.5 x 12 inches
mid 2004
This a fine example of abstract pointlessism, possibly from where it gets its name
You can see that there is no points, or centres to the concentric circles
The circles are just laid down inside or outside the previous ones, using one colour for a while, and then changing to another.
This painting took a month or so of seven ten hour days a week to complete. The end effect was very pleasing, but left me wanting to experiment with other variations on the theme. Different and more restricted colour schemes and the like.
I have tried a few things, which I will try and hang here soon
This work is in a private collection here in Madrid
